At a press conference<\/span> this afternoon, a reporter asked President Donald Trump if he is concerned about inflation rates after new data showed the consumer price index at a three-year high of 4.2 percent.<\/p>

\u201cI love the inflation,\u201d Trump said. In Februrary, before the US began bombing Iran, inflation was at 2.4 percent. Trump predicted that inflation will \u201ccome down like a rock\u201d once the war is over.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Trump suggested that the US has been ferrying oil out of the Strait of Hormuz. \u201cWe\u2019ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil,\u201d Trump said. \u201cEvery night\u2026now I\u2019m going to tell you because they just figured it out. It was very hard for me, I wanted to say it so badly, but I didn\u2019t want to ruin it. But millions of barrels of oil has come out, and that\u2019s why it\u2019s at 85, $90 a barrel instead of 250.\u201d <\/p>\n

About an hour later, he reiterated this point via social media post: \u201cLast month, I directed our Great U.S. Military to execute a secret mission to support Oil Tankers and other Commercial Ships through the Strait of Hormuz.\u201d <\/p>

When the war is over, \u201cYou will see oil drop to where it was before,\u201d Trump said at today\u2019s press conference.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear when that will happen, though: today, Trump also vowed to continue attacking Iran. \u201cWe\u2019re going to be attacking them\u2026very hard,\u201d he said. Almost 3,500 Iranians have been killed in the US and Israel\u2019s war on the country since February 28. <\/p>
